Equinux tizi DVB-T WLAN hotspot for iOs devices - Review, Specifications, Cost, Images

Equinux offers an exclusive possibility to also watch television on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod with the tizi. For this the high price of 100 Euros definitely is a negative aspect, as well as the lack of functionality. It is already possible to get entry level DVB-T sticks for Windows that can do significantly more. Whether Equinux will still make some improvements in this respect will have to be seen. What nevertheless does impress is the simple operation, the decent case quality, its mobile properties, and the good transmission quality with the corresponding signal strength.

The DVB-T receiver box from Equinux is currently available from about 140 Euros, and therewith placed in the absolute premium sector. Further information is available from the Equinux homepage.

Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse - Review, Specifications, Images, Cost

The Microsoft Arc Touch offers an exciting concept. The mouse is simply folded open for use, and can thus find space in any bag without problems for transportation. The folding mechanism makes a robust impression and should also attract some interested glances from the neighbors.

The second highlight is clearly the touch sensor for the effortless scrolling, especially for particularly long websites. The haptical feedback from the integrated motor will soon not want to be missed again. Unfortunately it cannot be switched off, and could be a little disturbing in quiet surroundings.

With a current price range between 47 and 70 Euros from various retailers, the Arc Touch clearly positions itself in the high-end segment.

Specifications
--------------
    * Measurements: 128mm (length) / 110mm (folded out) x 45-55mm x 6-14mm (height) / 32mm (folded out) (L x W x H)

Intel Experiments with 48 Core Processor

Intel has always astonished the world with its amazing innovative ideas. Now just after releasing the Quad Core in the market, which still hasn't reached its full swing. Intel comes up with experimental chips and other plans for next year (2010).

Intel has now experimented with a 48 core chip which has amazing computing abilities and with the utmost power efficiency gained till now. Intel believes that increase in the number of cores will improve the performance significantly. The new 48 Core chip was built with Intel's 45-nm manufacturing process. Each core in this chip is programmable and shares data over high speed on-chip network.

The chip has used the organizing technique of cloud data centers in the web for its core arrangement. And so the chip is also said to be "single-chip cloud computer". The high-speed network connecting cores in the experimental chip makes it possible for software to quickly pass information directly between cooperating cores in a matter of a few microseconds, reducing the need to access data in slower, off-chip system memory. Applications can also dynamically manage which cores are used for a given task at a given time, matching the performance and energy needs to the job.

The new chip's energy consumption is as little as 25 watts and 125 watts during its maximum performance. Which is pretty much the same as todays processors.

By 2010 Intel also plans to release a Six-Core processor codenamed Gulftown. It will be based on the 32nm Westmere Architecture.

Now with all these latest and powerfull processors it will be really a simple deal in the future to run laptops, computers and other main stream devices to run high end applications. This would also pave way for a dramatic evolution in the automotive industry and in the aerospace industry.

Do leave your Comments on " Isn't Intel moving a bit too fast in releasing newer processors even before stabilising with their already released processors ?"

AMD six-core desktop chip - Thuban - in Spring 2010

AMD plans to launch a six-core desktop processor dubbed "Thuban" next year.

Xbit Labs claims the processor will be released in Spring 2010 and share much the same features of current Phenom IIs - except for the six-core die, of course - that is, a dual channel DDR3-1333 memory controller, 512KB L2 cache per core and a crossbarred 6MB cache. According to the site, it will still be a 45nm SOI part and will fit an AM3 motherboard (or AM2+, depending on the power specs).
Considering AMD is currently shipping Istanbul this makes sense.

It is AMD's habit to follow similar paths in desktop and server development. You can see the common heritage between the Opteron and the Phenom II nowadays, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise if it were a simple remake of Istanbul for desktops.
You can pick up an Istanbul server or workstation today - expensive-like - but as a desktop user you're probably already well off with a quad-core AMD processor for a fraction of the price. Since only purely multithreaded apps will really squeeze the taboo six-core for all its worth, you really have to wait for the desktop computing environment to catch up.

Thuban, by the way, is Arabic for Basilisk, but it's also a star in the Draco constellation. Makes sense considering AMD is all about the stars and the beasts.
The report also mentions some information about the upcoming 890FX/GX chipset that will essentially be a 790FX with a new southbridge chip, hopefully supporting 6GBps SATA and USB 3.0. µ
