The Yeti will be available for an expected price of Rs 16.5 lakh to 18 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. Two versions, Ambiente and Elegance will be made available and will be powered by a 2.0-litre common-rail diesel engine with 140 bhp of peak power and 32.4 kgm of peak torque respectively. Currently only one transmission will be on offer, a six-speed manual transmission. Scheduled to be launched on November 15 2010.
The Skoda Yeti is not really an SUV- a crossover vehicle is more like it; something between a car and an SUV. The Yeti, smarter-looking and less bulky than the usual SUVs, will serve for both urban driving as well as weekend driving. Despite being a two-wheel drive vehicle, its long suspension and high ground clearance makes the Skoda Yeti competent enough for slightly rougher tracks.
Skoda plans to launch petrol and diesel models of the Skoda Yeti, with 1.6L to 2.0L petrol engines and a 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine.
