The C-X75 is basically Jaguar's birthday present to itself, after 75 years of churning out iconic machines. And this 21st century E-Type is the kind of present they just won't be able to top once the big 80 comes around.
It's capable of 330kph and 0-100kph in 3.4 seconds by way of four electric motors — one for each wheel, and each for 195bhp — producing a total equivalent of 780bhp and an astonishing torque output of 1,600Nm scorching all four tyres, staggered front to rear. The C-X75 can run for 110km solely on electricity, but with two micro gas-turbines spinning at 80,000rpm, the range extends to over 900km, or as much as the most modern diesel hatchbacks.
Finished in a suitably titled Jetstream Silver, the super-cat follows a simple, flowing design with inspiration from cars like the 50s C-Type and D-Type racers and the mid-engined 1966 V12 XJ13 Le Mans prototype. The C-X75's monocoque chassis and bodywork are aluminium, with a carbon fibre rear diffuser and an active rear wing.
